The New York Cosmos announced today the addition of forward Aaron Dennis to the 2019 roster.
Dennis is a local product, having grown up in Elmont, New York. The 25-year old also has ties to the Cosmos organization. He played in the Cosmos Academy from 2010-2011.
“I’m extremely excited to have signed with the Cosmos,” Dennis said. “Before I went away to college, I captained the U-18 Cosmos team and also got some experience with the U-23 side as well. It was always a dream of mine to play for the team professionally and the time has finally come.
“I’m looking forward to meeting the guys and getting to work.”
The forward earned his first international call-ups, appearing for the U.S. Virgin Islands – his birth country – in two games this past September in Concacaf Nations League qualification.
Dennis most recently played for Penn FC in the USL and scored three goals in 22 appearances. He began his professional career with Arizona United – now Phoenix Rising FC – and also featured for Miami FC during his career.
“It’s important to bring in local talent as we build our roster for the 2019 Founders Cup and NPSL season,” Senior Vice President Joe Barone said. “Aaron also has a history playing in our organization with the Cosmos Academy and we always want to give those players an opportunity when available.”
More info on the team and 2019 NPSL Founders Cup will be announced at a later date.
