First Cosmos Game: May 2, 2015 vs Ottawa Fury FC

 

My first Cosmos game was their first game at MCU Park against Ottawa Fury. It was cool to watch Raúl play in Coney Island! I found out about the Cosmos days before that game, when my mom told me a soccer team was playing at MCU Park, and I was very surprised because it was a baseball stadium. I started following the club the day I went to the first game at MCU. They were my favorite team from that day on, and then Starikov came!

What I like most about the games and the stadium is the passing and the atmosphere. The fans, especially in the back, like the 5 Points, are the best. They bring more and more excitement to every game, and it just brings the whole stadium together. When we score, it feels amazing to be in the stadium part of Cosmos Country. I love watching my idol, Eugene Starikov. He's an inspiration and a wonderful talent to watch.

First Cosmos game: August 19, 2017 vs Indy Eleven

 

 

The Cosmos are the first team that I think of when people mention American Soccer. I spoke to a few of the fan groups on Twitter and [started following the club] from there. As soon as we booked up [for New York City], I was constantly checking for fixtures to be announced. I visited the New York St Pauli supporters group the night before, and they mentioned they were involved in a fans' tournament (Supporters Challenge Cup) at MCU Park before the game, which sealed the deal for me.

 

The fan culture seemed a lot less forced than other American sides. It was overall a great experience watching a game at MCU Park. If you are interested in football, then you could do a lot worse than joining the supporters section behind the goal every week - I liked the European ultra-style vibe to it. And if you are just looking for a day out with the family, then surely, it's better than baseball!

 

If I was ever in New York again, I'd be looking out for tickets. I'll be keeping an eye on results going forward and looking to add a Cosmos jersey to my collection soon!

I started following the Cosmos when they came back to MCU Park. My roommate gave me a discount ticket for Marcos Senna day. The atmosphere was amazing, I loved the excitement and the way the fans were responding to the plays the Cosmos were making. I also loved the fact that even though we tied, the Cosmos never gave up. They came to play hard and did so amazingly. The most favorite part was having a chance to meet the players and get autographs after the game. It was an amazing game and I had a blast.

 

My throat and hands hurt from yelling and clapping so much. Thank you for making my first-ever match fun. I would love to attend another Cosmos game in the future. I am a huge soccer fan and love the fact that I have a home team in Coney Island that I can watch play.

First Cosmos game: August 19, 2017 vs Indy Eleven

 

 

I had a great day, in fact, a fantastic day! I am a huge football fan and wanted to watch some football matches while on my two-week trip. While looking for teams in New York City, I found the Cosmos were still playing football. I knew about them, but didn't know they still had a team! As soon as I saw the team, I went straight to their fixtures and was happy to see they had a home game. I booked it straight away!

 

Before I attended the game, I must be honest – I didn't know much, apart from the history of the Cosmos, which every football lover should know. As soon as I entered the ground, it felt like a club I could follow. I have checked EVERY result and watched all highlights since.

 

I loved the fact that supporters were great. Only here at Cosmos have the supporters started chatting to me and telling me lots about the club. I loved the supporters’ atmosphere and how loyal they are to the Cosmos.

 

I didn't know any of the players on either side. Got to say that Ledesma was outstanding, I will keep a watch over his career for sure. I have been a season ticket holder at Nottingham Forest FC here in England for over 25 years, and that goal by Ledesma is in the list of best goals I have seen live.

 

I will 100% be at a Cosmos game in the future. I hope people see my video and decide to go along, as well. They will have a great day with fantastic supporters.
