New York Cosmos goalkeeper, Jimmy Maurer, was named Emirates Cosmos Man of the Match after a standout performance in his team's 1-1 draw at home against Indy Eleven. Maurer made back-to-back saves in the 42nd minute, kicking out a header from Éamon Zayed, then parrying the resulting corner to keep Indy from increasing their one-goal lead. Shortly after Emmanuel Ledesma's equalizing penalty, the Georgia native did well to preserve the score, executing a magnificent dive to block a David Goldsmith shot from outside the box. Maurer had 46 touches on the ball throughout the game, making three saves and two clearances to deny the eager opposition. The Cosmos shot-stopper has made a total of 42 saves so far this season, good for third in the NASL.
