Herrera and Ayoze Named to NASL Team of the Week

The NASL released its Week 12 Team of the Week, with striker Irvin Herrera and defender Ayoze making the list. Both players were pivotal in the 2-2 draw against North Carolina FC, working together throughout the pitch. Herrera received his first TOTW honor, while Ayoze was named for the second time this season.

The Cosmos took the lead in the 7th minute as Ayoze crossed the ball into the box, finding the feet of Herrera, who beat North Carolina FC’s goalkeeper, Brian Sylvestre. Herrera recorded five shots throughout the match, two within the box and three from distance. The Salvadoran forward netted his second goal in two matches, and is tied for most goals for the Cosmos.

Ayoze created four chances against NCFC and produced his first assist of the season. The Spanish defender had 71 touches throughout the field, with a passing accuracy of 84 percent. Ayoze had two shots during the match and his presence was felt by North Carolina FC's defense.
