Cosmos Academy West Fall Short in Regional Finals

June 27th, 2011 - The Cosmos Academy West U14s continued their successful summer with a run to the finals of the USYSA Far West Regional Finals in Boise, Idaho. Despite losing in the final, Cosmos Academy West played well throughout the tournament, which following their victory at the Manchester United Premier Cup last month have justified their billing as the top U14's in the country. Going in to the tournament, Cosmos Academy West 96's were ranked #1 in the country and region. Next up for the team is the chance to represent the United States at the Manchester United Cup in Manchester, England. The team will be there starting July 31st and will be playing in a 20-team tournament against top teams from around the world.

USYSA Region IV Finals:
Cosmos Academy West 0-1 Fullerton Rangers

Cosmos Academy West went into the final day of Regionals with a chance to represent Region IV in the USYS National Championship. They faced their long time rival from Southern California, Fullerton Rangers. Fullerton were much more active, eager and determined. The Rangers' hard work paid off eventually, when they scored in the 68th minute and held on to secure the 1-0 victory.
