Cobi Jones Inducted to the National Soccer Hall Of Fame
June 4th, 2011 - New York Cosmos Associate Director of Soccer and Ambassador, Cobi Jones, was elected to the National Soccer Hall of Fame as a member of the class of 2011. Also in the class of 2011 were players Earnie Stewart and Eddie Pope and builders Bob Gansler and Bruce Murray. Cobi joins an amazing 14 other Cosmos, such as Pelé, Carlos Alberto, and Giorgio Chinaglia, enshrined in the Hall of Fame.
A veteran of three World Cups, Cobi Jones was the finest American soccer player of his generation and is the all time leader in appearances for the United States Men's National Team. After fifteen years as a player then assistant coach with the LA Galaxy, Jones joined The New York Cosmos in the position of Associate Director of Soccer and Ambassador.
