Long Island has long been a hotbed for soccer in New York. Ever since the Cosmos’ arrival over 40 years ago, the talent pool has only increased. Now, that Long Island talent is being properly recognized.

Cobi Jones Inducted to the National Soccer Hall Of Fame

June 4th, 2011 - New York Cosmos Associate Director of Soccer and Ambassador, Cobi Jones, was elected to the National Soccer Hall of Fame as a member of the class of 2011. Also in the class of 2011 were players Earnie Stewart and Eddie Pope and builders Bob Gansler and Bruce Murray. Cobi joins an amazing 14 other Cosmos, such as Pelé, Carlos Alberto, and Giorgio Chinaglia, enshrined in the Hall of Fame.
