It was a celebration of New York soccer’s past, present and future as Borough Boys President Nick Laveglia, Cosmos COO Erik Stover, and Cosmos goalkeeping legend Shep Messing addressed the crowd.

After the Cosmos announced that they had submitted a proposal for a soccer stadium at Belmont Park, some fans had questions about the project. So we asked our fans on twitter if they had any questions and Cosmos COO, Erik Stover has done his best to answer them here:

On November 8th, 2012, Erik Stover was named the new COO of the New York Cosmos. In part one of this two part interview, Erik Stover sat down with Shep Messing to talk about his first days working at the club, the appointment of Giovanni Savarese as Cosmos head coach and his vision for the future of the Cosmos.

The New York Cosmos today named Erik Stover as the club’s Chief Operating Officer, responsible for all facets of the operation on and off the field. Stover is a 16-year veteran of the sports and entertainment industry having held senior management positions with the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority (Giants Stadium and IZOD Center) and Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego. Most recently, he was the Managing Director of Red Bull New York, a flagship team in Major League Soccer.
